MaryBeth Bailar, Psy.D.
Principal Scientist
MaryBeth Bailar, Psy.D. is a Principal Scientist at Cogstate, where she brings extensive expertise in geriatric neuropsychology to support clinical trials for neurodegenerative diseases. Prior to joining Cogstate, she practiced as a licensed psychologist and clinical neuropsychologist in diverse settings, including academic medical centers, neurology clinics, U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), and private practice.
MaryBeth’s clinical focus has been on Alzheimer’s disease, other neurodegenerative disorders, and traumatic brain injury. She has conducted thousands of evaluations for individuals with these conditions, authored book chapters and peer-reviewed manuscripts, and provided expert witness testimony in related legal cases. Her career includes leadership and program development initiatives, such as founding and directing a neuropsychology program at a hospital-affiliated neurology practice and creating the first brain health program embedded in an elite operational unit of USSOCOM. Most recently, she owned and operated a successful private practice specializing in geriatric neuropsychological evaluations.
MaryBeth earned her undergraduate degree in psychology from Otterbein University in Westerville, Ohio, and her Master’s and Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) degrees in clinical psychology from Nova Southeastern University. She completed her clinical internship and postdoctoral fellowship in neuropsychology and neurorehabilitation at the VA Boston Healthcare System, with concurrent academic appointments at Harvard Medical School and Boston University School of Medicine.
