 How it works

Baseline testing

Athletes take a baseline test before the season begins (or when uninjured). Testing computers do not need to be connected to the internet for testing. Once the tests are finished, you submit them by the internet to CogState, using our password-protected data transfer system. You will get back a report by email, which will say whether the baseline test was OK, or whether the athlete needs to take another test.

As well as getting reports by email you can review all reports on DataPoint® - a secure, dedicated website. For multi-team competitions this system allows a head physician to monitor testing conducted at individual clubs.

DataPoint® also allows you to download the testing software at any time, and you can install it on as many computers as you wish at no charge.

After injury testing

If an athlete becomes concussed you can perform follow-up tests on any computer (for example a laptop if the team is on tour). These are then submitted to CogState for comparison with the baseline test, and a report is sent by email or can be viewed on DataPoint®.
