CogState Research comprises a customizable range of computerized cognitive tasks able to measure baseline and change in a wide range of cognitive domains. Specialized tasks can assess attention, memory, executive function, as well as language and social-emotional cognition if required. Our batteries of tasks are used in research and commercial trials to determine the effect of drugs, devices, nutraceuticals and other interventions on cognition in many different conditions, diseases and disorders, and also in healthy volunteers. They are also used in large-scale sports medicine and screening programs for which conventional testing would not be feasible.

Validity, Reliability, Sensitivity

• The CogState testing method has been validated in international peer-reviewed journals. It targets a wide range of cognitive domains, including simple reaction time, attention, executive function and social-emotional cognition.
• Our tests are designed to maximize the signal and minimize the noise from cognitive recordings taken in research trials. They have a proven ability to detect both improvement and decline in cognition.
• Excellent stability allows the detection of subtle drug effects, meaning that any change in cognition - even when very small - will be detected.
• Minimal learning effects ensure that participants can be tested repeatedly as often as needed, even multiple times in short periods.

Rapidity

• Our tests are the fastest computerized tests in the world. A brief battery can be completed in as little as 7 minutes, and a more extensive battery in only 25 minutes without a loss of sensitivity. This ensures easy integration of cognitive testing into a busy testing schedule.
• When dealing with complicated patient groups such as those with Schizophrenia and ADHD, the ability to collect the optimum amount of data in the shortest possible time is a significant advantage.
